between Dr Gene Scott and Bonzo,.. there i am!
a chat with om intan suddenly driven to discussion about self formation and complex systems, and how it connected with second law of thermodynamic and evolution...
we have a disagreement.. mostly because we forget much of the theory... (hehe...)the chat slightly come to brought me a memory of a restless feud between those who believed in evolution theory, and those who didn't. as in my campus, the feud has led to a one day seminar titled, "Adakah Bantahan Terhadap Teori Evolusi?", or, in other words, "is Evolution Theory are really collapsed?".
to be on the both sides of the story of this creationist-evolutionist issue, i was reading books written by Richard Dawkins, an evolutionist, as well as i read books by Harun Yahya. other people might not find it important, but to me it shape my perception of my personal life. and if you ask me, which one do i enjoy reading, I prefer reading Dawkins' book. mostly because the arguments is build on a plain old scientifical explanation. not dogmatic explanation that i feel execute all attempts in trying to find logical explanation too quick. so quick and narrow, it didn't left a room for arguments.i was believe that science is supposed to be value-free. but in case of evolution versus creation, science has been used to cover such hidden agenda. there might be personal believe or disbelieve in God, for so many reasons.
but using science to explain something irrational, or the other way - rejecting something irrational, is funny. in my believe, this evolutionist-creationist feud has become more absurd and foolish. they use science, in this case, evolution theory to explain their believe. personally i don't really care if there's really any God or not. I don't see what's the good in arguing such things. the task of evolution theory is to explain where we propably come from. not to answer such question.I think what is important is to become a good being. to our kind and other kind of living being. that, my friend, elevate the very concept of life, said Edward O. Wilson in his book, Biophilia. i receive God as a highest order that shows us ways to become a good being. I don't have to question wheter God is exist or not. Something that I can't think of, will not be apropiate for my small mind. it's like trying to swallow your own head (quote: Agah,2005 unquote)
but my intuition goes beyond. we often seek logical ways to explain it, when there's really no logical way to explain it. we hope too much of science when science was nothing but a tool for our small mind.as long as science history, we can never really separate it from our believe, our religion, our philosophy, our intuition in knowing what is true and not true. we push it too much when its primary function is to help us recognize our surrounding and to be able to adapt to it. but the temptation is undeniable, for human is an animal with purpose. we're hardly seeing a plain reality without questioning the purpose. Dawkins sees it as a chronic disease for humankind.
i guess science has never been value-free after all.-bahasa inggrisnya jangan dianggap serius.. grammarnya mungkin kacau :-o...

Hehe, has it ever occured that both of them (the evolutionists and creationists) maybe right (evolution and creation occured)? Yang gw ga suka sih pik, saling salah menyalahkannya itu. Padahal, biarin aja mereka paparkan argumentasi mereka masing2 dan biarkan yang lain menilai.
Interesting to know.
